about stereotyping
The video I saw about the blue eyes and the brown eyes
reminds me of some situation that I have been in the past. I work in a hospital
in Abu Dhabi and there we have what we call discrimination. How is that
happening in the hospital? Well we have local patients and foreign patients and
here comes the problem where we treat the local guys different from the foreign
people. The foreign people can notice the difference in treatment and the
behavior of the staff that work in the hospital. We have so many complain
letters coming to the mangers about the behavior of the staff. That’s what I
see from the staff and they keep talking to me that I have to do the same
thing. They also do that especially to the Indian and Arab guys from outside
countries.
One thing that happened to me that once I was in the
cafeteria having a breakfast, suddenly a guy came to me asking me to help him
with something in the office but I said to him that right now I’m having a
break so after I finish I will help you with it. What I was not expecting is
that he will go to my other friends and he said to them that I refused to help
him with the work and I’m a guy who is thinking high of myself, the problem is
that he does not know me se he judged me before we even had to work with each
other
